Nafnið á fyrirtækinu, Arcanum, merkir leyndardómur. Á það vel við starfsemina. Ekki vegna þess að einhver leynd hvíli yfir henni, heldur vegna þess að við eigum okkur það takmark að opinbera leyndardóma öræfanna fyrir okkar gestum.

Eigendur Andrína Guðrún Erlingsdóttir og Benedikt Bragason hafa mikla reynslu af ferðalögum á fjöllum. Undanfarin 20 ár hafa þau rekið ferðaþjónustu við Mýrdalsjökul og farið með ferðalanga upp á jökulinn og inn á hálendið á vélsleðum og jeppum.

Six rooms for couples or individuals; one room sleeping four persons (double bed & two bunk beds) and one large room for 6 persons with a separate lounge and bathroom, ideal for families needing more space than a conventional hotel room.

The guesthouse is owned by Arcanum Glacier Tour company at the farm Ytri-Sólheimar 1, and being adjacent to the farm there's no shortage of activities to break up the day. Our guests can choose from various activities and glacier tours. Ranging from snowmobile tours, super jeep tours, a glacier walk, ice climbing, ATV/Quad biking and volcano tour, everyone will find something that for their interest.

Arcanum Glacier café is a cosy oasis in the midst of the Icelandic nature at its best. The café is located (near the car park on road nr. 221) by the edge of Sólheimajökull glacier and there is only about 15 minutes walk to observe the magnificent nature of the glacier and its environment.

Everything is baked on site and we serve the best cakes, hot chocolate or if you are craving something more savoury you can try our daily soup, quiche and sandwiches.
The café is the ideal stop for a nourishment before or after going for a glacier walk. We also offer free Wifi for our customers.
